Title: Is there a Middle Ground in the Controversy Over Root Canal Therapy?
Biography
Biography: Dr. Stephen M. Koral
Abstract
While most dentists accept that root treated teeth do not pose a health challenge to patients, there has always been a faction that rejects the practice entirely, stating that no dead tissue can possibly be biologically acceptable. What are the reasons for this fundamental disagreement, and are there methods of root canal treatment that might mitigate the possible toxic effects of keeping non-vital teeth in place?
