Dr. Kenji Takada is Japanese-born and grew up in a city 10 miles west of Osaka. He received his D.D.S. and Ph. D. degrees (Dental Science) from Osaka University in 1973 and 1981, respectively. After serving as a junior investigator and later a clinician at Osaka University Dental Hospital, he joined the Osaka University faculty in 1980 and was dispatched to the University of British Columbia from 1981 to 1983 as a Visiting Assistant Professor at national expense. Since 1996, he has served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in the Graduate School of Dentistry at Osaka University, a top school in the Japanese hierarchy of universities. From 2005 to 2007, he served as Dean of the School of Dentistry and of the Graduate School of Dentistry at Osaka University, serving as a Board Member of the Management Council at Osaka University until March 2007. He served as a Board Member of the University’s International Relations Office from 2007 to 2010. He has also served as board member on two cardinal councils of the national government, the Medical Ethics Council from 2001 to 2013 and the Council for University Chartering and School Juridical Person from 2007 to 2010, both of which exercise strong administrative powers in dental education and the practice of dental medicine in Japan. In the beginning of July 2012, he honorably left Osaka University and moved to the Faculty of Dentistry at National University of Singapore from which he had been offered a position of a Visiting Professor. At the same time, he was granted a title of Professor Emeritus from Osaka University to his distinguished achievements. From the 1st of July, 2013, he has been promoted to a full Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry at NUS.

She lectures domestically and internationally on conservative cosmetic dentistry techniques using the Uveneer System . Jacobson is a fellow of the American Academy of dental facial esthetics and a member of the Australian Dental Association, Australian Academy of Dental Facial Aesthetics, the American Academy of Cosmetic .

Lise Slack is an International speaker, clinical dental hygienist, published author, inventor/developer/patentee of two oral care products and director of the charity i-Hope. The love of teeth comes from her dentist dad in South Africa which is also Lise’s country of birth and education. Lise spent five years in the UK working for SmithKlein Beecham promoting/distributing Amoxil antibiotics for prevention of dental bacterial endocarditis. At the same time Lise was in the project designing/marketing the brand/logos for Corsodyl Chlorhexidine Gluconate 2mg/ml antimicrobial mouthwash. Eleven years ago Lise, her husband and two young daughters immigrated to Australia where she continues the battle against periodontitis and peri-implantitis. Lise has written several articles on the long term maintenance of the periodontal health and dental implants. After three decades of data collecting from her patients she invented the unique X-Floss and XRibbon now available in several countries. Lise’s innovative character and passion for the work as dental hygienist has opened doors to see Lise speak/teach at international dental/hygiene conferences on implant/perio maintenance. Lise is an active member of the Dental Hygienists’ Association in Australia. Lise is also passionate about rescuing orphans and her charity i-Hope is currently building their second safehouse in Asia.

Geoff Parkes is a founder and director of the Australian College of Dental Education. Dr. Kazuhiko Nakano completed his D.D.S. degree at Osaka University and received a Ph.D. from Osaka University. Later, he was appointed as Chief of the Outpatient Clinic of the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic, Osaka University Dental Hospital. More recently, Dr. Nakano became Professor of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Osaka University Graduate School of Dentistry as well as Head of the Pediatric Dentistry Clinic of Osaka University Dental Hospital. Dr. Nakano is a trustee of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of the International Association of Dental Research. He has authored and co-authored many original research articles and clinical reports, as well as several book chapters in the field of pediatric dentistry and clinical oral microbiology.

He is a skilled technician and lectures regularly nationally and Internationally on a variety of subjects including Orthodontic Appliance Construction , Dental Material Science and Laser Welding. He is also the Technical editor for eLaborate Magazine, Australia's leading Dental technology publication which he has over 30 articles published on a variety of dental subjects.

Alex have over 20 years’ experience across multiple industries, from hands on IT between 1991-2000, to IT recruitment and owning/running to his own recruitment company from 2006. Dimosthenis Mantokoudis has completed his graduate studies at the University of Berne, Switzerland. After his doctor thesis in the field of Periodontology at University of Berne and several years in private practice he completed the postgraduate program of Prosthodontics at the Department of Prosthodontics, University of Berne and was appointed in the same department as an Assistant Professor and Research Coordinator. His activities, both in clinical practice and clinical research, cover the field of oral Implantology and implant Prosthodontics. Dimosthenis initiated with the support of the Global Microsurgery Foundation and in collaboration of the University of Hong Kong a novel type of postgraduate course in implant dentistry with the strong focus on clinical training in part-time delivery at a new purpose built teaching facility: The Australian Institute of Dental Education and Research - AIDER. He is currently Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and appointed from the Global Microsurgery Foundation as Chief Executive Officer of the AIDER.

Dr. Said has been teaching at the School of Dentistry since his January 6 arrival from the University of the Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry where he served from 2009 as associate professor in the Pathology and Medicine Department, and director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory and Clinical Oral Pathology and Medicine. He had previously served as the director of the oral and maxillofacial pathology laboratory at the University of Alabama, School of Medicine, Department of Pathology and at UAB School of Dentistry where he closely collaborated with the departments of otolaryngology head and neck surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has been managing clinical oral pathology/oral medicine patients for over 15 years. Dr. Said received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University's School of Dentistry and a Master of Science degree in oral biology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed two residencies in oral and maxillofacial pathology: one at the University of Illinois at Chicago and another at Long Island Jewish Hospital. He also completed an advanced Head and Neck/ENT pathology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. As part of his academic leadership and involvement, Dr. Said has spearheaded numerous research studies, has presented numerous national and international continuing education courses, is a member of 16 professional societies (including being on the past executive council of the North American Society of Head and Neck Pathology) and currently is on the council of the American Academy of Oral Maxillofacial Pathology. He sits on a dozen councils and committees (including past chair of the finance committee for The American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology), serves as a reviewer for eight academic journals that address oral, head and neck pathology, and sits on the editorial board of three other publications. He also serves on the American Dental Association’s National Board part II test construction committee. For personal and political reasons, Dr. Said left Iraq in 1985, after completing four years of dental training at the University of Baghdad College of Dentistry. He is most grateful to Marquette University School of Dentistry, Milwaukee, for accepting his translation of his personal transcript copies from Arabic—a trust that permitted him to begin dental school there as a freshman and earn his DDS in 1989. Dr. Said has a seven-year-old daughter, nine-year-old fraternal twins (boy and girl), and an eleven-year-old daughter. He expresses joy regarding his marriage to Neda, a stay-at-home pharmacist who spends much of her time guiding their four children through the early years and caring for Dr. Said’s elderly mother and father who have resided with them for the last 18 years. When life normalizes and some injuries heal, Dr. Said would like to resume playing soccer and practicing Martial arts.

Dr. S. Prabhu, Senior lecturer in oral bio-dental sciences is an oral pathology and oral medicine specialist with about 30 years of teaching experience in different parts of the world. Dr. Prabhu has published scientific papers in international professional journals and authored chapters and edited books in oral medicine, oral diagnosis and oral and maxillofacial anatomy/histology for dental undergraduate and postgraduate students. Dr. Prabhu is a Fellow of all four surgical colleges in the UK and Ireland and is an examiner for the membership examinations of the faculty of dental surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland.

Neil O’Brien-Simpson has an interdisciplinary background, combining organic and peptide chemistry with microbiology and immunology to develop novel vaccines and therapeutics and investigating the immune response to pathogens. Thus his field of research is in chemical biology/immunology and host/pathogen (bacteria/fungi) mucosal interaction. He was originally trained in biological sciences and management at Edinburgh Napier University (Edinburgh, Scotland) and worked at I.C.I Chemicals and Polymers Division (Grangemouth and Runcorn) as a research organic chemist. In 1993 he was awarded an Overseas postgraduate research scholarship and a CRC for vaccine technology scholarship to study for his Ph.D at The University of Melbourne, Department of Microbiology and Immunology. During his Ph.D he was trained in peptide chemistry and immunology and developed in his thesis a method of producing a multi-valent peptide vaccine, which resulted in several publications and a patent. After being awarded his Ph.D he went to the Melbourne Dental School, The University of Melbourne, to do postdoctoral research with Eric Reynolds on the development of a vaccine against the bacterium Porphyromonas gingivalis a causative agent of periodontitis. At the Melbourne Dental School A/Prof O’Brien-Simpson has established a peptide/organic chemistry laboratory and a microbial-immunology laboratory to conduct research into AMPs, vaccines and bacterial immunity. He was part of a team in 2003 and 2009 that was awarded a Co-operative Research Centre grant for establishing the CRC for Oral Health Science and Oral Health CRC, respectively served as a Program Leader (2003-2009) and currently as a Project Manager for vaccine design and therapeutic development. For the past 3 years (2011-present) he has been a member of the Australian Dental Research Foundation (ADRF) research awards committee that awards grants and scholarships pertaining to oral and dental research. A/Prof O’Brien-Simpson has published over 50 peer reviewed journal articles and is an inventor on 11 patents, 6 of which have been licensed. Further his research into vaccine design and periodontitis has resulted in Neil being awarded: the Colgate Prize for Dental Research (1999), The IADR Hatton Award (2000) and the Oral Biology Award (2003). In 2003 he was awarded a CR Roper Fellowship and in 2004 he became program co-leader for the Novel Diagnostics, Vaccines and Pharmaceuticals Research Program in the newly formed Co-operative Research Centre for Oral Health Science.

He is currently engaged in several research programs, notably in Design, development and delivery of sub-unit vaccines, Understanding the mucosal immune response to bacteria. How microbes and their products e.g. outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) interact with mammalian cells. Synthesis of antimicrobial peptides to combat microbial infection and targeting antibiotic resistant bacteria. Nanomaterial and particles for vaccine and drug delivery.

Professor Paul Tipton is an internationally acclaimed Specialist in Prosthodontics who has worked in private practice for more than 30 years. He is the founder of Tipton Training Ltd, one of the UK’s leading private dental training academies and the author of over one 100 scientific articles for the dental press. He was voted in the Top 20 ‘most influential dentists in the UK’ by his peers in Dentistry Magazine in April 2012, the leading Prosthodontist in the poll and was voted in the top 5 dentists in Private Dentistry’s Elite 20 poll, January 2012.

Lynette Wallace graduated from University of Sydney in 1994 with Honours. She has been in private practice in Bowral since 1994. She takes a multi-diciplinary approach to patient care, studying both in the USA and Australia in orthodontics and neuromuscular dentistry and kinesiology. She is currently enrolled in the MClin Dent program with BPP University City of London. Her key area of interest lies in looking at the whole body physiological coherence and its links with mouthbreathing and dental caries, using biofeedback computer monitoring.

Dr. Yi-Hao Huang is the vice president of Dr. Signal Biotechnology. He is also the Director of Dr. Huang's Periodontology and Dental Implant Specialty Clinic, a part-time clinical instructor at National Taiwan University Hospital, Department of Periodontology, Taipei, Taiwan. He belongs to the scientific staff of the Laboratory for Applied Periodontal & Craniofacial Regeneration, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, Georgia, USA since 2004. Dr. Huang is an executive officer of administrative commitees for Taipei Congress of Oral Implantologists (TCOI). Hatem A. Alhadainy, BDS (Egy), MSD (Restorative, Egy), PhD (Endo, Egy-USA), MS (Epidemiology, USA) is a professor and Chairman of Endodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Tanta University. His work was concentrated on Endodontic research with extension in periodontology and Epidemiology. Dr. Alhadainy finished his Bachelor (1982) and Master degrees (1989) from Tanta University, Egypt and PhD degree as a channel program between Tanta University and University of Memphis, USA (1995). He also earned a MS Degree from Colorado State University, USA (2006). He is currently the Chairman of Endodontics Department in Tanta University from Aug. 2013. He was course director of postgraduate courses for several years. Dr. Alhadainy published more than 40 researches in National and International journals and reviewed several articles for international journals. He also presented researches in several international conferences including: Memphis, Chicago, Dallas (USA), Damarcus (Syria), Budapest (Hungary), Florence (Italy) Sanaa (Yemen) and Egypt.

Dr. Nabeel Al Nahass is the Head of Department at the Super Dental Specialty Center, Ajman, UAE and has also been the Assistant Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics at the college of Dentistry, Gulf Medical University.
