About City

Bangkok, The City of Angels or "Krungthep" in Thai, is the capital city of Thailand. Bangkok is the hub for most of the commercial and economical activities of the Kingdom. At the same time, the City is very famous and appreciated by visitors for its versatility and multiple points of interests. From temples, the Grand Palace, all the way over the some of Asia's largest shopping centers and the largest outdoor market of Asia (Chatuchak), Bangkok definitely has what it takes to entertain visitors from all origins, either first time or return travelers. Whilst Taxi fares are very reasonable, most of the sightseeing can comfortably be reached by Skytrain (BTS) or Underground train (MRT). Aside of the sightseeing and shopping, Bangkok has developed into a magnet for food lovers of all origins. The same range of choice applies to the accommodation options all over town, from high end international chain hotels to family run guest houses; demands of all travelers are met. In terms of wellness and relaxation – Bangkok has recently seen a huge development of city Spas and Wellness centers, in addition to the long established Thai massage centers.

Silom
Silom Road (ถนน สีลม) was in the past the main trading disctrict for a long time and many shop houses are still lining the roads in the area. Running from the Riverside (Charoenkrung Road) all the way East to Rama 4 Road, it is located between Sathorn and Suriwongse Roads. During the day, Silom is the City’s banking center as well as jewelry and gems trading area, whereas after sunset it becomes a very famous night spot.

Sukhumvit
Sukhumvit Road (ถนน สุขุมวิท) has become the capital’s main commercial axis, often refered to as the city center. The many small streets crisscrossing the area are home to a wide selection of restaurants, small cozy hotels as well as some nightclubs, whereas the main street front areas are populated with luxury hotels and a number of tailor shops. The side walk turns into a buzzing night market once the sun has set.

Siam / Rajdamri
Siam Square (สยามแสควร์) covers probably the needs of any shoppers heading to Bangkok. All Luxury brands are well represented in Asia's largest shopping mall, Paragon, located next to Siam Center and Siam Discovery, all on the Nothern side of the Siam Skytrain (BTS) station. This station serves as only interchange station between the BTS Sukhumvit and Silom lines.

Chinatown
Chinatown (ไชน่าทาวน์) is located on the Rattanakosin area of Bangkok, which is mostly the old town, all around the Giant Swing. Best reached by river taxi during main traffic hours, there are numbers of buzzing markets, eateries, gold and pawn shops to be discovered by travelers in a labyrinth of small streets, as well as hotels and open air seafood restaurants.
